THE COMMANDER HALL EVENTS

Commander will be running throughout the entire WUBRG FEST weekend.

Come with your favourite deck, find a pod, try something different, or simply sit down for a game whenever you feel like it. Open Commander will continue alongside all of the special events throughout the weekend.

OPEN COMMANDER — ALL WEEKEND

Open tables will be available throughout the weekend for spontaneous games and new pods.

Whether you are bringing a precon, a casual favourite, something strange, a high-power deck, or cEDH, there will be space to find the kind of game you are looking for.

No sign-up needed. Just bring your deck and find a table.

CASTLE PLANE COMMANDER

The castle becomes part of the game.

Castle Plane Commander is WUBRG FEST’s own take on Planechase, using custom Castle Plane cards inspired by the rooms, spaces, and atmosphere of Schloss Boitzenburg.

Travel through the castle while you play and discover what each new Plane brings to the table.

Secret Role Commander

Commander with hidden roles, uncertain alliances, and a little more suspicion around the table.

At the beginning of the game, each player receives a secret role with their own goal. Some players may be trying to protect each other, some may be working against them, and others may have plans of their own.

You know your deck. You just might not know who you can trust.

TRIBAL CLASH

Choose your tribe and bring it to battle.

Tribal Clash brings creature-focused Commander decks together for games built around strong themes and identities — Elves, Goblins, Zombies, Dragons, Vampires, Merfolk, or whatever tribe you want to represent.

Build around your favourite creature type and see how it matches up against the others.

THE MONARCH’S TABLE

There can only be one Monarch.

One special Commander table will carry the crown throughout the weekend. The winner of each game becomes the reigning Monarch for the next game and begins with the Monarch mechanic already in play.

Win the table, take the crown, and add your name to the Monarch’s history.

How long can you keep it?.

PLANECHASE COMMANDER

Sometimes one battlefield is not enough.

Selected tables will have Planechase decks, dice, and everything needed to send your Commander game travelling through the Multiverse.

Sit down, roll the planar die, and see where the game takes you.

TWO-HEADED GIANT COMMANDER

Choose a partner and play Commander as a team.

Two players face another pair, bringing shared strategy, teamwork, politics, and plenty of opportunities to blame your teammate when everything goes wrong.

MONO-COLOR COMMANDER

Bring a mono-coloured Commander deck and join a table built around Magic’s five colours.

White, blue, black, red, or green — choose your colour and see how differently each one approaches the game.

COMMANDER COSPLAY NIGHT

Saturday night, Commander gets a little more colourful.

Bring your favourite deck, your favourite character, or both. Commander Cosplay Night will mix open games, costumes, photos, themed moments, and a few surprises throughout the evening.

Cosplay is completely optional — everyone is welcome to join the games.

HOW THE SPECIAL EVENTS WORK

Open Commander will continue throughout the weekend, even while special Commander events are running.

Most Commander activities are included with your Festival Pass and can simply be joined on site. Selected events may have limited capacity or require sign-up.

If any Commander event requires an additional fee or separate ticket, this will be clearly marked on the event itself.
