A Festival Built on Respect

WUBRG FEST is created as a space where people can play, meet, explore, and enjoy Magic: The Gathering in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

To make that possible, everyone attending the festival — guests, artists, partners, staff, volunteers, and organizers — is expected to treat others with respect. The goal is simple: create a weekend where people feel safe, comfortable, and free to enjoy the game and the castle experience.

Respect Everyone

WUBRG FEST welcomes people of different backgrounds, identities, playstyles, experience levels, and ways of expressing themselves.

Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated. This includes behavior based on gender, sexuality, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, body, appearance, age, or any other personal characteristic.

Alternative style, cosplay, fantasy clothing, expressive fashion, and personal presentation are welcome at the festival. Do not mock, sexualize, touch, photograph, or comment on people in a way that makes them uncomfortable.

Consent and Personal Space

Respect personal boundaries.

Do not touch people, their belongings, costumes, cards, decks, bags, art, or equipment without permission. If someone says no, steps away, looks uncomfortable, or asks you to stop, stop immediately.

Cosplay is not consent. A costume, outfit, or character portrayal is not an invitation for unwanted comments, photos, touching, flirting, or roleplay.

Always ask before taking close-up photos or videos of people, artists, cosplayers, or private play moments. If someone asks you not to photograph or record them, respect that.

At the Tables

WUBRG FEST is about enjoying the game, not proving dominance over other players.

At the tables, we expect fair play, patience, and clear communication. Respect different levels of experience, different deck strengths, and different ways of enjoying Magic: The Gathering.

Do not pressure players, shame people for their decks, mock mistakes, manipulate newer players, or create a hostile table atmosphere. Winning is part of the game, but making the table unpleasant is not.

If a game has a problem, talk calmly first. If needed, ask staff or event support for help.

Trading and Cards

Trading should be fair, transparent, and respectful.

Do not pressure people into trades or take advantage of inexperienced players. Make sure both sides understand what is being traded. If there is uncertainty about value, condition, language, edition, or authenticity, take time to check before agreeing.

Theft, scamming, intentional misrepresentation, or damaging someone else’s cards or belongings will be treated seriously and may lead to removal from the festival.

Artists, Vendors, and Staff

Artists, vendors, partners, staff, and volunteers are part of the festival and deserve the same respect as every guest.

Do not block artist tables, pressure creators for discounts, copy or misuse their work, or take photos of artwork if they ask you not to. Support the people behind the work and respect their time, space, and boundaries.

Staff and volunteers are there to help keep the weekend running. Please follow their instructions, especially around safety, room use, event schedules, check-in, and castle rules.

The Castle and Shared Spaces

Schloss Boitzenburg is a historic place. Treat the building, rooms, furniture, halls, staircases, outdoor areas, and shared facilities with care.

Do not damage, remove, climb on, or misuse anything in the castle or its surroundings. Keep shared areas clean, respect quiet spaces, and use the rooms only in the way they are intended for the festival.

Hidden corners and atmospheric spaces are part of the experience, but not every area may be open to guests. Please respect closed doors, signs, staff instructions, and restricted areas.

Alcohol, Substances, and Behavior

Guests are expected to stay responsible for their behavior at all times.

Alcohol or other substances are never an excuse for harassment, aggression, unsafe behavior, damage, or disrespect. Anyone who becomes a problem for others or for the safety of the event may be asked to leave.

Reporting a Problem

If you experience or witness harassment, unsafe behavior, theft, serious conflict, or anything that makes you uncomfortable, please contact a member of the WUBRG FEST team.

You do not need to handle the situation alone. We will listen, take concerns seriously, and act as appropriately as possible depending on the situation.

More detailed contact points and on-site reporting information will be shared before the festival.

Consequences

WUBRG FEST reserves the right to take action if someone violates this Code of Conduct.

Depending on the situation, this may include a warning, removal from a table or activity, removal from the festival, cancellation of participation, or further action if necessary. Serious violations may lead to immediate removal without refund.
